การใช้ will

การใช้ would

ใช้กับการกระทำที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต (will + กริยาช่อง 1) เช่น I will see you tomorrow. ใช้แสดงความตั้งใจ ความเต็มใจ หรือความปรารถนาที่จะทำบางสิ่งบางอย่าง เช่น I will take care of it for you. ใช้แสดงการขอร้องหรือการเชื้อเชิญ เช่น Will you turn down the radio? Will you come in?

ใช้เป็นอดีตของ will (สำหรับการ "จะกระทำ" ที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีต) เช่น She said she would come. ใช้ในรูป would + like + infinitive เพื่อแสดงความต้องการ ความปรารถนาที่จะกระทำสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่งอย่างสุภาพ เช่น I would like to ask a question. ใช้เริ่มต้นประโยคคำถามเพื่อชักชวนหรือถามความสมัครใจ เช่น Would you like to go with us? ใช้ในรูป would + rather เพื่อแสดงความประสงค์ที่จะทำสิ่งใดสิ่งหนึ่งมากกว่า เช่น I'd rather walk than run.

o เมื่อใช้ในรูปปฏิเสธ เติม not ข้างหลัง will และ would (โดยมีรูปย่อ won't, wouldn't)

o เมื่อใช้ในประโยคคำถาม วาง will และ would ไว้ข้างหน้าประโยค เช่น Will it rain?

CONVERSATION 1
A: I will take a vacation next week.
B: What will you be doing then?
A: I will be vacationing in San Francisco.

CONVERSATION 2
A: I will definitely take a few days off next week.
B: Where will you be going?
A: I will go fishing and canoeing in the Rockies1.
