o การกระทำที่ถือเป็น past simple tense
§ เกิดขึ้นและจบสิ้นไปแล้วในอดีต อาจจะเป็นเหตุการณ์เดียวหรือหลายๆเหตุการณ์ เช่น
Scott called this morning.
Kathy came and left yesterday.
§ เคยเกิดขึ้นเสมอมาในอดีต แต่ปัจจุบันไม่เกิดขึ้นอีกแล้ว เช่น
John liked ice-cream when he was young.
He was a football player while going to high school.
CONVERSATION 1
A: Kathy left for New York last month.
B: Did she say when she would be back?
A: She didn't.
CONVERSATION 2
A: Susan went to New Orleans last year.
B: Did she take her daughter with her?
A: She did.
