1.2.3 ทำ (VERB TO DO)

· ในกรณีที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นกริยาหลัก verb to do จะแปลว่า ทำ เช่น I do my homework. He does his job.

· ในกรณีที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นกริยาช่วย

1. ใช้ในการสร้างประโยคปฏิเสธแทนกริยาหลักในประโยค (ยกเว้นในกรณีของ verb to be) เช่น We don't go to school on Sunday. She didn't have your number.

2. ใช้ในการสร้างประโยคคำถามแทนกริยาหลักในประโยค เช่น Do you play football every Sunday? Did you have dinner?

· เมื่อใช้ในรูปปฏิเสธ ใช้ verb to do เข้าช่วย เช่น She doesn't do her job. We didn't do our assignment.

· เมื่อใช้ในประโยคคำถาม ใช้ verb to do มาช่วยโดยวางไว้หน้าประโยค เช่น Did you do your homework? Does she do that every day?

CONVERSATION 1
A: I did not do anything yesterday.
B: Didn't you go to work?
A: I did, but I don't have that much work these days.

CONVERSATION 2
A: I didn't do anything at all the past few days.
B: Didn't you go to the office?
A: I did, but I don't have to work hard nowadays.
