ความหมาย				วิธีใช้*
a lot lots		มาก (มาย)		นิยมใช้ในรูป a lot + of + นามนับไม่ได้ และ lots + of + นามนับไม่ได้ เพื่อหมายความว่า much หรือใช้ a lot + of + นามนับได้พหูพจน์ และ lots + of + นามนับได้พหูพจน์ เพื่อ หมายความว่า many
					เช่น	"How much milk do you want in your cereal?" "I want a lot." Lots of people went to the concert last night.
a little little		(จำนวน) นิดหน่อย เล็กน้อย		นิยมใช้ในรูป (a) little + of + นามนับไม่ได้ a little จะให้ความหมายในทางบวกว่า อย่างน้อยยังพอมีอยู่บ้าง ในขณะที่ little จะหมายความว่า เกือบจะไม่มี
					เช่น	I knew a little about the economy. (พอรู้บ้าง) For half a day Jay did little but sleep. (เกือบจะไม่ทำเลย)์
other the other others		(คน, สิ่ง) อื่นๆ		ไม่นิยมใช้ other เพียงลำพัง มักใช้ร่วมกับนามนับไม่ได้และนามพหูพจน์ ส่วน others นั้น สามารถใช้ได้เพียงลำพังเพื่อหมายถึงคนหรือสิ่งอื่นๆนอกเหนือไปจากที่กล่าวถึง ซึ่งหากมีเพียง หนึ่งเดียวใช้ the other
					เช่น	She has two sons. One is a doctor. The other is a dentist. He never thinks of others, only himself all the time. I've bought all that you wanted. Let me know if you want any others.
the others		(คน, สิ่ง) อื่นๆที่เหลือ		ใช้แทนนามพหูพจน์ซึ่งอยู่นอกเหนือจากที่ได้กล่าวถึงไปแล้ว
					เช่น	I have three balls; Chris has the others. Only a few people remain; all the others have already left.
(the) most		ส่วนมาก จำนวน, สิ่งที่ มากที่สุด		นิยมใช้ในรูปของ most + of + นามเอกพจน์/พหูพจน์/นามนับไม่ได้ หากใช้ตามลำพังจะมี the อยู่หน้า most และจะมีความหมายว่า จำนวน หรือ การกระทำที่อยู่ในขั้นสูงสุด
					เช่น	At least you tried your best. That's the most anybody can do. We know which girl can sell the most.

* เราอาจใช้คำสรรพนามเหล่านี้ได้ในรูป สรรพนาม + of + คำนาม/สรรพนาม เช่น all of the books หรือ all of them เป็นต้น

CONVERSATION 1
A: I put a lot of milk in my coffee.
B: Most of the people I know drink black coffee.
A: Put a little in your coffee. You might like it.
B: OK. A little won't hurt.

CONVERSATION 2
A: I like lots of milk in my coffee.
B: Others prefer black coffee.
A: A little in your coffee will make it taste even better.
B: All right, just a little.
