การใช้ may	การใช้ might
ใช้เพื่อขออนุญาต เช่น May I borrow your pen? ใช้แสดงความเป็นไปได้ (ที่มากกว่า might) เช่น It may rain in the afternoon. ใช้แสดงความไม่แน่ใจ เช่น She may still be at the office. ใช้แสดงความหวัง ความปรารถนา การอวยพร เช่น May you succeed.	ใช้เพื่อขออนุญาตหรือให้อนุญาต เช่น You might like to try my racket. ใช้แสดงความเป็นไปได้ (ที่น้อยกว่า may) เช่น He might quit the job soon. ใช้ในรูป might + have + กริยาช่อง 3 เพื่อแสดงความเป็นไปได้ที่อาจเกิดขึ้นในอดีต เช่น You might have left your bag in Jayžs car.

o เมื่อใช้ในรูปปฏิเสธ เติม not ข้างหลัง may และ might (มีรูปย่อคือ mightn't)

o เมื่อใช้ในประโยคคำถาม วาง may หรือ might ไว้หน้าประโยค เช่น May I come in? Might she be coming with you tonight?
