o การกระทำที่ถือเป็น past continuous tense
§ กำลังดำเนินอยู่ในช่วงระยะเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่งในอดีต เช่น
It was raining very hard all day yesterday.
They were having a party here last night.
§ เหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดพร้อมกันในอดีต เช่น
John was playing while his mom was cooking.
They were working while their boss was vacationing.
§ มีช่วงระยะเวลาการเกิดที่ยาวนานกว่าเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับอีกเหตุการณ์หนึ่ง เช่น
We were watching television when the phone rang.
CONVERSATION 1
A: Scott got hurt while we were playing football.
B: What happened?
A: Mitch kneed him in the leg.
CONVERSATION 2
A: Steve was injured while he was wrestling with Mitch.
B: How did it happened?
A: Mitch accidentally elbowed him in the stomach.
